Voice dictation for ADHD
When a thought arrives, typing can be the slowest part. DictaFlow gets it out of your head and into the app you are in: hold, speak, release.
Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android. Free plan: 2,000 cloud words per 30-day cycle. Pro: $9/month or $84/year.
How to set it up
- Pick a trigger you will actually use. A single shortcut, mouse button or foot pedal makes starting a dictation low-friction.
- Brain-dump first. Speak the messy version of an email, plan or note. You can edit afterwards.
- Edit in a second pass. Separate talking from editing; it keeps you from getting stuck rewriting the first sentence.
- Keep notes where you work. Dictate into Notion, Docs, Slack or a plain text file; DictaFlow follows your cursor.
Tips
- Because it is hold-to-talk, it listens only while you hold the shortcut, so there is no always-on microphone.
- Short bursts beat long monologues.
- Dictation is a writing aid, not treatment. Work with your clinician or coach on strategies that suit you.
What DictaFlow does not do
DictaFlow does not organise tasks, set reminders or manage focus. It converts speech to text where your cursor is.
How DictaFlow works
DictaFlow is hold-to-talk dictation: hold a shortcut, speak, release, and the text is inserted into the active app at your cursor. It includes custom vocabulary, correction while speaking, and a Typing Mode that enters text as keystrokes for Citrix, RDP and fields where pasting is blocked. Standard dictation uses cloud processing; Pro adds Local Offline dictation on supported devices. See the full product facts and privacy policy.
