Voice dictation for Microsoft Word
Write reports, letters and essays in Word by speaking. DictaFlow inserts text at the cursor in Word, with custom vocabulary for names and specialist terms.
Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android. Free plan: 2,000 cloud words per 30-day cycle. Pro: $9/month or $84/year.
How to set it up
- Place the cursor in your document. Click where the next paragraph should go.
- Hold the shortcut, speak a paragraph. Release and the text appears.
- Format with Word. Apply styles, headings and lists using Word's ribbon or shortcuts.
- Proofread. Run Word's spell check and read aloud once; dictation errors tend to be homophones.
Tips
- Dictate in paragraphs rather than whole pages, so you review as you go.
- Keep one custom vocabulary for your field and reuse it across apps.
- Pair with a foot pedal if you want both hands free for notes or source material.
What DictaFlow does not do
DictaFlow does not execute Word commands such as 'bold that' or 'insert table'. It types text; formatting stays manual.
How DictaFlow works
DictaFlow is hold-to-talk dictation: hold a shortcut, speak, release, and the text is inserted into the active app at your cursor. It includes custom vocabulary, correction while speaking, and a Typing Mode that enters text as keystrokes for Citrix, RDP and fields where pasting is blocked. Standard dictation uses cloud processing; Pro adds Local Offline dictation on supported devices. See the full product facts and privacy policy.
