FAQ

How is the time saved calculated?

Words per day multiplied by working days gives yearly words. Dividing by typing speed and by speaking speed (in words per minute) gives hours spent each way; the difference is the saving.

Is 150 words per minute realistic for speaking?

Conversational speech is commonly cited at about 130 to 160 words per minute, so 150 is a reasonable default. You can change it. The estimate ignores time spent correcting transcription errors, so your real saving will be lower.

What is the average typing speed?

Averages are often quoted around 40 words per minute, but yours may be much higher or lower. Enter your own speed for a better estimate.
